ASK REAL GUYS
Friends with Benefits
Dear ASK REAL GUYS: I have a friend who I have known for almost a year. We have fun together. Every time I bring up dating exclusively, he responds with “I’m just a sorry-ass man; you don’t want to date me.” Is he really just trying to be nice? Whether or not he wants to date, I have told him I still want to hook up for sex whenever possible. Should I kick him to the curb or wait until he’s ready for a relationship?
Steven: Kick him to the curb and move on. Generally speaking, when a man says lines like this, he is conveying that he is not that interested. He is creating excuses so when you get upset with him or want more out of the relationship, he can say that he warned you and doesn’t have to live up to what you want. You might want to look inside yourself to find out why you have even put up with this. In your heart you know this is true. It is time to stand up for what you deserve.
