Looking for some festive new tunes to put on while you decorate for the holidays? We’ve got just the thing! Jazz artist and activist Christian Josi and Pat DiNizio, frontman of The Smithereens, have teamed up and released a fun new EP together that will fit the bill perfectly!

Entitled Holiday 2012, the EP consists of two tracks: “Winter Wonderland” and “White Christmas.” “Winter Wonderland” bounces you through the snow with a happy, bosa nova feel; “White Christmas,” meanwhile, is a stripped down, low-key version of the Irving Berlin tune made famous by the likes of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. There are also bonus versions of the two tracks featuring Josi alone.

DiNizio and Josi first met way back in 1988 on the set of The Smithereens video for “House We Used to Live In.” Said DiNizio to The Daily Caller, “While I’m a rock-n-roll songwriter and singer, I’m not a screamer. And what Christian does — is he’s keeping that important tradition alive. He’s very much a purist.” DiNizio went on the describe the EP as “a little Christmas card” that “creates a warm, casual holiday mood.” Raise your hand if that makes you want to sip hot cocoa by the fire!
