Ginnifer Goodwin’s Eco- and Wallet-Friendly Correspondents’ Dinner Dress: H&M!
No Marchesa for Ginnifer Goodwin! The actress wore a wallet- and eco-friendly dress from H&M to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Details here!
We already know that H&M has been moving up in the world lately; with collaborations with high-end designers like Versace and Marni, no longer is the brand solely for the broke college student who dreams of a closet full of high fashion outfits. And hey, guess where else their stuff has been appearing lately? The White House Correspondents’ Dinner!
On Saturday night, Once Upon a Time star Ginnifer Goodwin was among the many celebrities who scored an invitation to the dinner—but unlike many of them, her dress didn’t cost thousands of dollars. Her romantic little H&M number only cost a wallet-friendly $299; but more importantly, it’s eco-friendly too!
Ginnfer’s gorgeous, frothy confection of a dress is part of the brand-new H&M Exclusive Glamour Conscious Collection. This eco-friendly line of dresses and separates has been making big waves with the stars lately; according to People, its pieces have graced the red carpet on the frames of such stylish celebs as Michelle Williams and Viola Davis.
Made of silk and organic cotton, the elegant light grey gown features a fluffy skirt with asymmetrical raw-edge ruffles and a textured sleeveless bodice. Ginnifer gave it a personal touch by adding a black belt, and she finished off the look with a gold clutch and dramatic red lips. For the event, she told People, “I wanted something that was very earth-friendly. That was critical.” Unsurprising, given the actress’ predisposition to work for good causes (you can still pick up a pair of the shoes she designed with Milk and Honey to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!).
If you want to snag the dress for yourself, though, you’ll have to act fast; it’s a limited edition piece. Only 1,000 of them were made, and each is individually numbered. So hurry! Hie thee to thy local H&M and grab one before they’re all gone!
