Ginnifer Goodwin + More Design Shoes for Charity With Milk and Honey Shoes!
Stars like Ginnifer Goodwin and AnnaSophia Robb are teaming up with Milk and Honey shoes for charity. Find out how you can join in here!
Shoes are a tricky thing, aren’t they? If the heel is the exactly the height you want, then the shape is uncomfortable; if the color is right, then the details are wrong; and of course, as soon as you manage to find the perfect pair, you discover that they don’t come in your size—AND that they’re far too expensive, anyway. It figures, doesn’t it?
But that’s why Milk and Honey shoes exist. From boots to flats and from wedges to pumps, Milk and Honey makes custom-designed shoes affordable just for you—and even better, with their new initiative and the help of some like-minded stars, these babies even give back to those in need!
The brainchild of sisters Ilissa and Dori Howard, Milk and Honey originally began when the shoe-loving twosome found themselves losing the footwear battle. As they put it, “1) We didn’t want to have to take out second mortgages to support our shoe habit and 2) Sometimes we just couldn’t find what we wanted and that was simply not okay.” Furthermore, they don’t want YOU to go broke indulging in your love of shoes, either; even better, they want to help you find exactly the right pair—even if it means helping you design them yourself.
Now, stars like Once Upon a Time’s Ginnifer Goodwin and The Carrie Diaries’ AnnaSophia Robb, are getting in on the action, and for a good cause, at that! According to the Hollywood Reporter, these fabulous actresses have become part of Milk and Honey’s Generous Soles program—and you can, too. A celebrity-driven charity initiative, Generous Soles features shoes designed by celebrities, which you can purchase on Milk and Honey’s website. 100 percent—that’s right, all 100 percent—of the profits from each pair sold goes directly to the charity of the celeb designer’s choice.
Currently featured on the site are the Ginnifer ($270, milkandhoneyshoes.com), a tangerine pump with a 5” heel designed by Ginnifer Goodwin:
And the AnnaSophia ($285, milkandhoneyshoes.com), a sand-colored suede peep toe with a purple snakeskin colorblock:
Ginnifer’s shoe benefits the Memphis-based St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart. “Growing up in Memphis,” Ginnifer said, “I have always admired St. Jude’s for the magnificent work they do. Knowing that I would contributing even in this small way made designing this shoe really special.” The profits from AnnaSophia’s shoe, meanwhile, go to There With Care, a charity that provides fundamental support services to families and children facing critical illnesses during medical crises.
Previous celebrity designers include celebrity chef Rachael Ray and American Horror Story actress Kate Mara; and in the future, celebs like Malin Ackerman, Amber Valletta, Whitney Cummings, and Mindy Kaling will contribute to the cause. Now that’s what we call star power!
