The 30 Rock star will attempt to make Jordache cool again. Good idea or bad idea?
How long has it been since Jordache was cool? It’s been a while, right? Like, the mid-‘90s? Because Jordache is trying to make a comeback and I find this… interesting.
Fashionista reported that Jordache recruited 30 Rock star Katrina Bowden to be the face of their new campaign. According to ETOnline, a commercial starring Bowden and directed by America’s Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker (whoo hoo!) will debut sometime this month. Happy September, everyone! This will be Jordache’s first television commercial in 20 years. The theme is a “fashion journey through time,” and was shot in exotic Brooklyn. The stills have been released. Their journey got stuck in the ‘80s.
Is anyone else curious about how the ‘80s went from the decade we tried to forget (fashion-wise) to the hip new thing so quickly? Maybe it’s not actually the hip new thing yet; maybe that’s just Jordache’s wishful thinking. Either way, it will be interesting to see whether this new campaign actually succeeds in bringing back acid-wash jeans and terrifyingly huge hair.
The ‘70s look from the second still has more potential.
This look is less dated. The boho thing is always in. Would you wear that outfit? I would, though possibly without the high-waisted jeans. That’s just personal preference, though, because they look silly on me. Other people can pull them off. People who are not me.
