Giuliana Bill

Only a few days after announcing that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, E! News and Style Network host Giuliana Rancic went in for surgery to combat the disease. According to MSNB, she underwent a double lumpectomy, which removed growths in both of her breasts, as well as having several lymph nodes removed that doctors believed may have been affected.

Happily, Giuliana is now home from the hospital and resting. Her husband Bill appeared on The Today Show to update everyone on how she’s doing: “She’s a trooper, she pulled through it and was kind kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out and is doing well at home,” he said, adding “I’m adding nurse to my resume now.” Bill went on to say that they’re going back to the doctor today for a checkup and will hopefully have more news then.

Even more incredibly, Guiliana has decided to return to work next week. She certainly IS a trooper, isn’t she? Hopefully the community’s outpouring of support over the past week has been helping her through things; everyone from regular, everyday people to stars like Christina Applegate have offered their encouragement as she goes through this difficult time.

We wish you well, Giuliana!
