Don’t let the heat of the summer months weigh down your outdoor workouts. Summer is a fantastic time to take workouts outside and use the world’s biggest gym, the environment, to blast calories, burn fat and rev the metabolism. High temperatures and sunny skies also bring a whole new set of concerns, mainly heat exhaustion; one must be aware of and prepared for. Heat exhaustion is the body’s response to dehydration and an excessive loss of water and salt through sweat. Heat exhaustion typically occurs when the body becomes overwhelmed by heat, and the sweat response stops working properly.
