I SUPPORT VETS’ Serena Hayden to Speak at Fatigues to Fabulous at Fashion Week
Serena Hayden of I SUPPORT VETS and Fashion Week’s Fatigues to Fabulous campaign will help raise support for female veterans.
New York Fashion Week is fast approaching, and yes, it will most certainly be full of spectacular and sometimes hilarious shows and moments. But Fashion Week will also have some poignant moments, thanks to Fatigues to Fabulous. Created by Ronnie Denn Productions, Fatigues to Fabulous, or F2F, is a national program geared towards honoring the service of women veterans and supporting their transition back home. Aided by the Society for Women’s Health Research and Give An Hour, the program is working with Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and a variety of other designers to help raise awareness of the challenges faced by returning women vets, as well as to provide the resources needed to ease their transition back again.
Serena Hayden, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the nonprofit organization I SUPPORT VETS, has been selected as one of six women that will speak during the September 8 Fatigues to Fabulous campaign at Fashion Week. A vet herself, Hayden says that she is “very honored to be part of this event and increase awareness about the issues women face when returning from war or transitioning from the service.” She goes on to emphasize the importance of raising awareness of the issues faced by female vets: “Community awareness is vital to dispelling the preconceived notions regarding veterans, and the ability to educate others on the struggles of female veterans is why Fatigues to Fabulous is such a critical, landmark event.”
Landmark event, indeed! We’re certainly looking forward to supporting Hayden and the Fatigues to Fashion campaign at Fashion Week!
