Kiehl’s Annual Motorcycle Ride Raises HIV/AIDS Awareness
However you choose, (shop, ride, text) show your support for Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR.
Have you ever felt the urge to leave all of your troubles behind, strap on your leather jacket, hop on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and drive aimlessly into the sunset? We have!
Kiehl’s Since 1851, a New York-based purveyor of quality skin and hair care and front-runner for raising HIV/AIDS awareness, has partnered with amfAR (dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research). They’re rounding up cyclists for its biker gang to support Kiehl’s second annual Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR – a seven-day charity motorcycle ride up the East Coast from July 31 to August 6, making donations along the way up to $75,000. Stops and checks for the cyclists include the King of Prussia Mall (July 31), Walnut Street in Philadelphia August 1), the Burlington Mall in Burlington, Massachusetts and Newbury Street in Boston (both August 4), and finally the NYC Flagship Store in New York (August 6).
“From our inception, it has been Kiehl’s mission to always give back to the communities in which we do business,” said Chris Salgardo, the president of Kiehl’s USA. “I’m humbled that as a company, we not only raise funds for amfAR, but we get personally involved with the cause, and as a motorcycle rider, I’m personally delighted once again to lead the ride and truly grateful for the generosity of each LifeRide participant.”
Don’t feel left out just because you’re stuck with a four-wheeler. By visiting a Kiehl’s free-standing store at any of the stops on their given dates, Kiehl’s will donate $5 to amfAR. Easy, right? And that’s not the only way you can help! Kiehl’s is also introducing its Limited Edition Ultra Facial Cream, with the net profits from its sales (up to $25,000) to benefit amfAR. Also, receive a 15 percent Celebration Discount at each Kiehl’s store. For you cell phone savvy people aka everyone, by texting LIFERIDE to 80888 and replying YES to confirm, you’ll donate $10 amfAR. With the ride and products combined, Kiehl’s will donate hefty total of $100,000 to amfAR.
“Kiehl’s has been a valuable and longtime supporter of amfAR’s vital research work, and the funds raised through the Kiehl’s LifeRide will bring us that much closer to finding a cure for HIV and AIDS,” amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost said. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Kiehl’s on such a unique event.”
