There’s nothing like getting kicked off the show after only three seasons, right kittens?

Poor, poor Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Chris Colfer! These kiddies had it all, didn’t they pets? They were the stars of TV’s biggest hit show, Glee, which probably gave them even bigger heads. Mean Betty could tell as they strutted down the red carpets at the Emmys and Golden Globes, these show-tune loving kids thought they’d be here forever!

How foolish of them… don’t they know Hollywood is never that kind?

Yes, dear kittens, just as quickly as they sang their way to the top, Lea, Chris and Cory (aka Rachel, Kurt and Finn) are being pushed out to sulk with the others at the bottom. Glee‘s co-creator, Ryan Murphy, has flicked them off of his mega cash-making machine the way Mean Betty flicks her cigarette butts to the ground…. hard.

Murphy tells The Hollywood Reporter that their characters, who started off in season one as sophomores in High School, will simply “graduate” at the end of season three. Of course, Mean Betty knows, by “graduate,” he means “be written off entirely never to step foot on my set again, those smug little…”

But, like any trained Hollywood veteran, Murphy put it in much nicer terms to the press, saying, “You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”

Artfully crafted, Mr. Murphy.

Mean Betty is sure Lea Michele and crew feel the same. A realistic script is absolutely what they want, not a steady, secure job on a hit TV show — that’s not what they got into this business for!

They just wanted to sing songs and bop around Mr. Schuester for three seasons and then leave, so they can unsuccessfully look for another gig in Hollywood because they’re stuck with the image of “that annoying kid from Glee.”

Well done, Mr. Murphy! They now have you to thank for making all of their dreams come true. And Mean Betty is especially a fan of your decision to not tell Cory Monteith and let him find out he’s been fired this way. Well played.
