Michelle Obama

No, it’s not because of her killer arms. Michelle Obama has been given the number one spot on Forbes‘ list of “The World’s Most Powerful Women” because of how effective she’s been as the First Lady. Forbes writes:

“A fashion icon and an athletic mother of two, she’s Jackie Kennedy with a law degree from Harvard and street sense from Chicago’s South Side. She’s also effective: In response to her Let’s Move! campaign against childhood obesity, companies like Coca-Cola, Kellogg and General Mills have pledged to reduce the calorie content of their foods by 2012.”

  1. I really do not like to see her compared to Jackie Kennedy; no matter how “powerful” she is.
No, I do not believe that Michelle Obama is the world’s most powerful woman. I certainly do not WANT to believe this.

  2. Lady Gaga? You cannot be serious. I also don’t think Michelle Obama, as much as I like her, is the most powerful woman in the world. That title probably belongs to the head of some corporate behemoth.

  3. The other women were “powerful” before Inauguration Day 2009. Surely the chancellor of Germany has more power, and she didn’t achieve it by being the “wife of.” The food companies have agreed to reduce their foods’ calorie content due to fear of regulation if they don’t act voluntarily.
