“My favorite spring fashion trend is the re-emergence of the tribal motif. I LOVED Donna Karan’s collection for spring, which thoroughly epitomized the trend and catered perfectly to the strong angles and earthen hues that make a strong tribal statement.”
Julia DiNardo, Editor – Fashion Pulse Daily
”My fave trend for spring is happy pastels- they’re everywhere and acceptable in every format. I’ve pulled together a smattering of a few items that I love, and I’m really excited that it’s finally A-Okay to wear pastels at every single hour!”
Bryce Gruber, Founder and Editor in Chief – The Luxury Spot
“I love colorful denim and for spring it’s all about pastels. Since it’s a trend though, I’d recommend purchasing an inexpensive pair of mint green or peach jeans because by fall the color will shift again. I have my eye on a pair of blush toned skinny jeans that I’d pair with a crisp white tank and neutral blazer with brown, texturized sandals to keep the look clean. “
Jeannine Morris, Founder and Editor – Beauty Sweet Spot
“I love the re-emergence of the tropical print. Especially as a bottom piece like a skirt or pants. It’s a fun look and injects a burst of color into your outfit while it perfectly balances a solid top. “
Diane Artzberger, Editor – The Beauty Alchemist
“Spring is serving up bold geometric, artistic and floral prints – that don’t resemble grandma’s couch – and I’ll be partaking. But I’ll be supersizing my graphic prints and adding a side of color! My trick is to create balance in shape, color and scale when stacking this bold look. An unconstructed shirtdress in a bright daring large print teamed with a neutral small patterned tote and delicate neutral shoe keeps the look fresh and modern. No-fuss hair, little to no jewelry, a nude (or bright) lip and this bold trend is my new springtime staple.”
Liz P., Editor & Chief Makeup Maven – My Beauty Black Book
“My favorite spring fashion trend is mint – I’m obsessed! I even created a Pinterest mood board dedicated to the color. It’s a fresh pastel color that livens up any ensemble.”
Kimberlee Van Der Wall, Editor – I Have A Degree In This!
“With so many brights and neons on-trend for spring, wearing them can be a little intimidating! I like incorporating vibrant pops of color with a gorgeous handbag in a bold shade, or wearing a nearly neon shade of nail polish for a quick style update that’s not too far-fetched. I can still wear black without it looking too serious.”
Amber Murray, Editor – Beauty Junkies Unite
“From the bright and bold colors making headlines at runway shows this spring, my favorite spring trend has to be the neon satchel. Giving a color to a classic trend, the satchel is a perfect contrast when paired a structured white blazer and nude peep toes.”
Palazzo or Wide-Legged Pants
“My favorite spring trend is printed palazzo pants!!! Replace the printed skinnies from last season with these instead. They sort of look like a maxi skirt at first glance but then as you walk, you can see that they are actually pants. I think they look so sexy and effortless with a ‘70’s vibe that is so big right now!!! Pair with a tight top or tank tucked in – remember keeping the proportions small on top – and a fab necklace, wavy hair, heels of course and big sunglasses. So very Jane Birkin!!”
“As a lover of color, it’s no surprise for those who know me that my favorite spring 2012 trend is Color blocking. I love this trend for a few reasons, not just for its boldness and use of color but because it makes everything look stunning. Whether it’s color blocked clothing, shoes, accessories, handbags or housewares – they all look amazing in this trend. Color blocking also works great across the board, it doesn’t matter if you’re conservative, punk, mod, etc, this trend can fit into anyone style personality. With color blocking, you can use one piece such as a bag, shoes or accessories as an accent or go for a bolder choice and rock a color blocked outfit. Even other trends can be color blocked – pastels, lace, brights, etc; the possibilities are endless.”
“The most versatile 2012 spring fashion trend is the Caftan (or Kaftan in Europe). Recently while shopping in a spa boutique in Orlando, Florida, I rediscovered this versatile body forgiving style from the ‘70’s. The caftan has many different looks and can be found in either mini or maxi lengths. Most caftans can go from a beach day to evening cocktails with only the addition of a little jewelry. Also be sure to toss the beach bag and replace it with a fabulous small clutch. This look can take any Spa Gal from beach chic to yacht glamour in no time!”
