Olivia Wilde’s Skincare Secrets: Why She Doesn’t Tweeze Her Brows + More
Don’t you wish you had Olivia Wilde’s gorgeous skin? Here’s how she takes care of it!
Actress, model, producer, Revlon spokeswoman… is there anything Olivia Wilde doesn’t do? The actress recently put in an appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of a documentary she produced called Baseball in the Time of Cholera. The film follows the effects of a cholera outbreak on a Haitian athlete and the ensuing scandal surrounding the United Nation’s involvement in the whole to-do. Important? Heck yes!
In between photo calls and screenings, Olivia found a moment to chat with the New York Times’ T Magazine about what she does to stay gorgeous as she goes about her busy life—including how she keeps her skin looking so fresh and glowing. Want to know her best skincare secrets? Read on!
When she’s working, Olivia ends up getting a full face of makeup every day (curse those cameras and their need for makeup!). So what does she do to keep her skin healthy? Lots and lots of washing. In order to get her face thoroughly rid of makeup at the end of a workday, she tells T Magazine, “I usually wash my face twice. First, to remove all the makeup, and then again to give my face a really good scrub.” For her scrubbing, she swears by Cetaphil cleanser. “I also like their moisturizer,” she adds. With all that washing, moisturizing is doubly important.
She also likes to splurge on the occasional facial when she has time, and she makes sure to give her skin lots of time to breathe: “When I don’t have to wear makeup, I don’t,” she says. Maybe we should add her to our list of barefaced celebrity beauties!
Olivia has plenty of tips when it comes to the finer details, too—for instance, brow maintenance. The actress is well-known for her beautiful brows, which, the times note, act as perfect frames for her gorgeous eyes; but her biggest brow tip might surprise you. It’s quite simple, really: She doesn’t tweeze them. “I’ve been letting them grow out for years,” she says, preferring to trust what she was born with over too much artificial shaping—so put the tweezers down, ladies! She does, however, give her brows a little boost when it’s needed. “I try to fill them in wherever nature has abandoned me,” she says, adding that lately she’s been going for a slightly lighter shade of brow color due to her newly-blonde locks. “I just fill in under the arch and soften them up a bit. My natural brows are quite pointy,” she reveals. “I soften them so I look less like some evil Disney queen!” Think Olivia would have made a good alternative to Angelina Jolie in the upcoming Maleficent movie?
