It’s almost time for the second annual National Donate Your Hair Day (NDYHD) on September 7, 2013. NDYH is a unifying day of giving that encourages people to cut and donate their ponytails to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a campaign to make real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
Ready to donate and live in the NYC-area? We’ve got an awesome opportunity for you! — enter to win a free cut + style with a Pantene Celebrity Stylist and attend a VIP event with Pantene, Seventeen Magazine, and us on September 7 — click here for all the details!
Wherever you are, if you PonyUp and donate your hair to help make wigs for women going through cancer, you can be a part of the Beautiful Lengths’ first ever Vine-umentary! This ultra-cool project will featuring donors and recipients past and present sharing moments that matter throughout the Beautiful Lengths journey. The final cut of the video-documentary will include a mash up of existing content and new Vine videos capturing the 6 seconds when women ‘PonyUp’ and cut their ponytails for NDYHD 2013.
All you have to do is Tweet a short video of you making the cut, tagging @Pantene and using the hashtag #BeautifulLengths. Pantene will accept submissions now through October 2013. The final product is going to be AH-MAZING.
Check out this incredibly inspiring story of Pantene Beautiful Lenghts wig recipient, Brittany Davis:
We’re so happy to be involved in this amazing event and cause. Since 2006, Pantene has connected tens of thousands of men, women, and children across the country—inspiring them to grow, cut and donate their hair to help Pantene Beautiful Lengths make real-hair wigs for women undergoing cancer treatments. Since its creation in 2006, the program has collected nearly 500,000 ponytails and has helped distribute more than 28,000 real-hair wigs through American Cancer Society wig banks across the country.
We can’t wait to see the final Vine-umentary of people all across the country who are willing to PonyUp!
