Romance Lessons With Aaron Paul: How to Propose in the Cutest Way Ever
‘Breaking Bad’ star Aaron Paul revealed how he popped the question to his fiancée in a recent interview. Cutest thing ever? Um, yes.
Do any of you out there in Bettyland watch Breaking Bad? I only recently hopped on the bandwagon (thanks, Netflix!), but boy am I glad I did; it’s one heck of a show. Now that the fifth and final season has begun, there’s also an endgame in mind, and I for one can’t wait to see how it goes.
As is to be expected, the show’s stars are currently running the PR circuit—and Aaron Paul, aka Jesse Pinkman, the meth head with a heart, just gave a fantastic interview with The Vulture. Along with a whole bunch of terrific insights into how he approaches playing such a difficult character, he also revealed that he’s probably just about as un-Jesse-ish as you can get in real life—right down to the way he proposed to his fiancée, Lauren Parsekian. Said Aaron:
“We got engaged on New Year’s. We were in Barcelona, staying with her aunt who’s an artist out there, and then we did an impromptu trip to Paris. Well, she thought it was impromptu; I had the ring burning in my pocket for three months. I always knew I wanted to do it on New Year’s in Paris. With her. It’s the story, you know? Paris is the most romantic city on the planet. We were walking the streets alone with a bottle of Champagne in hand, and right before midnight we were sitting on a stoop in St. Germain, surrounded by lit-up Christmas trees. And we started dancing to some Edith Piaf … and then I popped the question.”
Cutest thing ever, right? Gentlemen (and ladies, for that matter) pay attention: This is how it’s done. Awwww! For the curious, here’s a peek at the ring; Lauren Tweeted it out a while ago along with the message “I can’t wait to marry you @aaronpaul_8:”
The happy couple’s wedding is apparently also taking its cues from Aaron’s uber-romantic proposal; the actor recently shared with Us Weekly, “I want a 1920s-themed wedding, Parisian carnival. That’s what we’re going to do.” Lauren hasn’t found her dress yet, but they’ve still got time; and luckily, Aaron is the kind of guy who’s totally into wedding planning (he says he loves wedding magazines). Full steam ahead, we say!
