Jon Hamm

Jon Hamm is pretty much constantly doing marvelous things, so it shouldn’t really be a surprise that he’s done it yet again—though we can safely say that of all of the marvelous things we would generally expect Jon Hamm to do, this is not one of them.

Have you checked out fashion wunderkind Tavi Gevinson’s Rookie Mag? If you haven’t, you should; even though it’s technically geared towards teen girls, there’s plenty to enjoy there even if it’s been many a year since you’ve been able to call yourself a teen. Case in point: A recent addition to Rookie’s “Ask a Grown Man” feature in which Jon Hamm answers a myriad of love and relationship questions from the site’s teenage readers. On video, of course. Check it out here:

Am I the only one who finds this video unexpectedly funny? Maybe it has something to do with Jon’s no-nonsense, straight-to-the-point delivery. The advice is also terrific, though, and I think more of this kind of stuff needs to exist in the world. Most teen girls are not only embarassed to ask these sorts of questions, but moreover, they don’t always have a grown man in their lives they feel comfortable enough around to talk to. It’s a good thing that Don Draper wasn’t the one advising them, though!

Jon Hamm, by the way, is far from the only awesome celeb who has taken on the “Ask a Grown Man” mantle; other contributors include The Office’s BJ Novak and the one and only Paul Rudd. Check them all out here—and share them with the teenagers in your life while you’re at it. They’ll thank you for it.
