What’s Your Dream Princess Outfit?
Bloggers dish on their fave princess style as we celebrate National Princess Week.
You can thank the Walt Disney Company and Julie Andrews for this majestic holiday. National Princess Week, which runs from April 22-28, was created to celebrate “every princess–real, aspiring or imagined.”
In the spirit of all things royal, we asked some of the best bloggers out there to work their magic and create the perfect dream outfits. Here’s what we came up with…we hope these inspire you to raise your wands!
Diane Artzberger – editor, The Beauty Alchemist,
Princess of Sunny Days
Diane said: “A polished and elegant look fit for a Princess, who knows she always needs to put her best foot forward but never be too overdone. Pretty accessories and yellow shoes add a pop of fun color to this ensemble that will take you to a wedding, charity polo match, brunch with the extended family or anywhere else your subjects might need you.”

Dynelle S. – Editor, My Life on and off the Guest List,
The First Lady of Disney
Dynelle said: “Growing up, my favorite Disney character was Minnie Mouse and even though she wasn’t a princess, I always thought of her as such-–she is technically the first lady of Disney. So for this first ever Princess Week, I wanted to bring my childhood dream of Minnie Mouse as a Disney Princess to life–at least what I thought she’d be wearing as a teen princess. Naturally, her signature polka dot dress would still be intact but updated with a modern touch. A chic girl like Minnie Mouse would fit perfectly with the other Disney princesses in this modern Chiffon Strapless Polka Dot Gown by Faviana, Polka Dot Peep-toe pumps by Brian Atwood. And while she would obviously go for a custom made bow Crown, the Sparkling Red Tiara is a beautiful choice for a modern princess.”
Jenny Altman – CEO, ILOVEAGOOD
Jenny said: “To feel like a princess, I like to mix something sweet with something a little masculine. I also love ruffles, feathers or metallics. Metallics are an easy way to go since they can look “fancy” while being very versatile. Metallic shoes, especially, can go with jeans or an evening dress. I also like a fun clutch. The special shoe or clutch will have you feeling like a princess every time you look down at them. I always love a beautiful cami to bring innerwear out since it can be your most feminine, expensive piece and feels luxurious against the skin. Don’t wait for a special occasion to feel like a princess, a hot pink pedicure can give you the feeling every day, even if you’re wearing jeans and flat sandals.”
Lanvin cropped tulle shrug ($1,790, net-a-porter.com), Mary Green Midnight in Satin camisole ($93.50, marygreen.com), Scatter pailette pencil skirt ($328, jcrew.com), Yves Saint Laurent Tribute suede and metallic sandals ($1,025, net-a-porter.com), Kissing Ovals clutch ($375, bhldn.com).
Liz P. – editor, Beauty Black Book
Liz the Lively, Princess of Diorvio
Liz said: “A flowing maxi in a royal color (purple) is the backdrop for my royal ensemble. What makes my outfit princess pretty are the accessories complete with glittery platforms and a nude clutch that say’s I’m cut from royal cloth but I know how to keep it real. Vibrant Mojave green turquoise dangle earrings and a bold cuff add an eye-catching contrast. It’s the contrasts in color and texture that make this outfit fit for a queen, err princess. The final touch includes a loose side chignon, soft peach pout and an elegant royal wave.”

Siren of the Sea
Diana said: “As a gal who’s spent a good part of her childhood daydreaming about castles under the sea, I chose to channel the beautiful Ariel. This ensemble reflects a woman who is curious, charming, and always put-together. And who could resist a gleaming pair of Jimmy Choos? Not this mermaid!”

Princess of Nerds
PJ said: “As much as I love fashion, beauty and style, I adore books, science, and quantum physics. You could say that I’m a nerd to the nth degree. And I’ll gladly agree with you! As PoN, I’d sponsor emerging designers and scientists. Proving once and for all, you can be chic and smart. So I’d look for clothing that’s well-tailored and fun with a bit of personality, because I’d be bouncing from atelier to lab.”
