Would You Chop Off Your Locks Like ‘Girls’ Star Lena Dunham?
Lena Dunham, the mastermind behind HBO’s ‘Girls,’ chopped off all her hair – click through to see! Would you do the same?
Are you fans of Girls, Bettys? Well, if you are, good news—the second season of the hit HBO series just finished shooting. And guess what creator, writer, and star Lena Dunham did to celebrate? That’s right: She chopped off all of her hair. Because why the heck not? Get a load of her new ‘do, courtesy of her Instagram account:
Is she pulling a Miley? Not quite, though she DID crack a joke about it on Twitter the day she took the scissors to her head. Anyway, as you can see in the top image, Lena’s hair wasn’t that long in the first place; her new look is still a pretty significant change, though. So what do you think? Would you chop off your long, flowing locks in favor of a short, hip ‘do like this?
Personally, I kind of love the new cut on Lena; I think it makes her look older, but in a good way. It’s more mature, and much more befitting of her actual age (she is, after all, a 26-year-old woman, not a college student). Also, I love that she apparently isn’t wearing any makeup in that pic. While we COULD chalk it up to her hopping on the “celebs Tweeting photos of themselves without makeup” bandwagon, I get the feeling that this is just kind of how Lena is on a daily basis. She’ll get jazzed up if and when she has to, like she did for Girls’ premiere back in April:
Hello, fire-engine red lips and elaborate braids!
But the same way that Lena has a real person’s body (e.g., not the unrealistic, stick-thin Hollywood ideal), she also seems to have a real person’s view on makeup (that is, don’t wear any unless it’s absolutely unavoidable). And that’s pretty cool.
This, of course, may all just be me projecting how I WANT Lena Dunham to be onto how she actually is; but still. I dig it. And I dig her new hair.
Tell us: Would you ever chop your locks like Lena?
