Wowie! Yowza! Luca Luca’s Spring Show Glowed with Color!
If you thought his fall show was brilliant, you’re going to love his take on what to wear in the warmer months.
Last fall, when I watched Luca Luca Creative Director Raul Melgoza‘s take on playing with color, I had an epiphanious moment. Color is meant to be played with. Exuberantly. Since then, my personal philosophy has been to take things that don’t match and wear them together. And it works.
For spring, Raul amps up the season with brightly colored prints, shocks of lime and cerulean blue, and oodles of joyous hues on the runway. It’s no wonder that his show was packed with celeb fans like Shay Mitchell, Ashley Tisdale, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Solange Knowles, Whitney Port and Joanna Garcia Swisher.
Body baring dresses and suits romped down the runway. Here’s another show where the back is bare and ready to be shown off. Hemlines are up and down. It’s safe to say, where ever you want your hemline to be, let it hang!
Loved the sleek black and white gown, the sleekly cut raspberry-pink dress and the turquoise gown.
We all may not be able to have a few Luca Luca items hanging in our closets, but if we take away the idea that you can play with color and find things that show off your form (without looking like sausage casing) you can capture his spirit.
